For the more adventurous angler, guided spear fishing trips explore the rocky reefs, underwater pinnacles, and clear waters around Santa Catalina and nearby islands.

Trips are led by experienced local spear fishers who know the best spots for each species and condition. You’ll freedive to depths of 5-15 meters targeting snapper, grouper, and jack. Equipment provided includes a speargun, mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt, and gloves.

Some swimming and breath-holding experience is recommended — this isn’t a beginner activity. If you’re new to spear fishing but experienced in the water, our guides can teach you the basics on a calm-water introductory trip.

Like rod fishing, your catch goes straight to Kokodrilo’s kitchen. Trips run 3-4 hours, typically departing early morning when visibility is best.

Overnight trips are also available. Ask our team to arrange your trip and review the supplied trip guide.
