Our Beach

Playa Lagartero is our private piece of paradise — a secluded stretch of dark volcanic sand where dense jungle meets the Pacific Ocean. Unlike the busier town beaches of Santa Catalina, Lagartero is rarely crowded, offering a true castaway experience.

The beach is a 1-minute walk from any room on the property, through shaded garden paths. Morning low tides reveal tide pools teeming with marine life — starfish, crabs, small fish, and sea urchins (bring water shoes). The south end of the beach has calm swimming areas, while the north end picks up more swell for bodysurfing.

Sunrises over the Pacific are legendary! Enjoy the rising sun from Playa Lagartero.

Every one of our rooms is a one-minute walk from Playa Lagartero, and groups can make the beach the backdrop for a yoga or wellness retreat.
