Our Garden

The Hibiscus Garden is the botanical heart of our property and the reason our hotel carries its name. Wander through self-guided paths lined with over 30 species of tropical plants — hibiscus in every color, frangipani, bougainvillea, bird-of-paradise, heliconias, and bromeliads.

Fruit trees throughout the garden produce mango, papaya, coconut, banana, starfruit, and cacao, much of which ends up in Kokodrilo’s kitchen and cocktail menu. You’re welcome to pick ripe fruit directly.

The garden is home to resident iguanas, toucans, and hummingbirds. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times for birdwatching — we’ve recorded over 40 bird species on the property. A small herb garden near the restaurant supplies basil, cilantro, lemongrass, and mint.
