Public Bus

The most affordable option with connections through Santiago and Soná.

Budget — 7-8 hrs

Travel from Panama City’s Albrook bus terminal to Soná, then transfer to the Santa Catalina bus. Confirm current departure times at Albrook before travel. Ask our team about the final connection from the main road to the hotel.

Route options (allow a full day):

1. Panama City → Santiago Albrook Terminal, departures every 1-2 hours, ~4 hours, ~$10

2. Santiago → Soná Santiago terminal, regional buses every 30-60 min, ~1 hour, ~$3

3. Soná → Santa Catalina Local buses depart several times daily (typically 6 AM, noon, 4 PM), ~1.5 hours, ~$5

4. Panama City → Soná (direct, replaces steps 1–2) Albrook Terminal, Monday–Saturday departures at 6:30 AM, 8:20 AM, 10:20 AM, 12:45 PM, 2:20 PM, 3:15 PM, 4:19 PM and 5:45 PM (Sunday service is limited), then transfer to the Santa Catalina bus. Important: The last bus from Soná to Santa Catalina departs around 4:00 PM. If you miss it, taxis may be available but are expensive ($50+). Plan to arrive in Santiago by early afternoon.
